A future for Lebanon?

Has any Arab population suffered this Dresden-like bombing campaign Lebanon is undergoing in our lifetime? I can't remember any such incidents or reading about one. Can someone enlighten me?
Also, considering the advancement and accessibility of information media specifically, TV news to the Arab world, will this vivid display of wanton violence by Israel and her Imperialist enablers in London and Washington galvanize a long-lasting repugnance from the Arab world--both in Lebanon and without?
In other words, is this a turning point, some sort of pivotal moment for something better?

Will everyone forget and go back to find their niche in structural investment regimes surely to evolve in the aftermatch in Lebanon and everyone else to go back to their routine?
